History & Biography
While there was a Death Warrant around the same time over in Mexico, and naturally many more would keep on coming over the years, the Germans mostly from Baden-Württemberg were the first with the name. Formed in the late 1970s and eventually becoming Death Warrant, and based on the sole EP not professing to Scorpion(s), Death Warrant self-released a mini-LP in 1984 that was released in 1985. Several line-up changes had occurred since the 1980 and 1981 demos. The MLP was recorded at the studio of Antoni Records, which belonged to Lothar Antoni who sang for Trance. Otherwise, the recording was financed by a local pub owner. More material destined for a new EP was also recorded, but members quit and the band disappeared. Wolfgang Marquardt became a piano teacher.

Death Warrant’s Ecstasy became an expensive rarity over the years, but Golden Core re-pressed it in 2023 complete with the aforementioned unreleased tracks as a bonus. Golden Core included the MLP as part of a five-album vinyl rerelease alongside records by Sudden Death, Cutty Sark, Exploder, etc. called 80s German Metal Vinyl Box in 2024.
