History & Biography
Decameron is best known for featuring guitarist Johan Norman who left the band to join Dissection in 1994. The name change occurred in 1991 and a demo called My Grave Is Calling was released the year after. The band was no more as of 1997. The band featured guitarist Peter Gustavsson and drummer Magnus Werndell upon dissolution. At The Gates' drummer Adrian Erlandsson had preceded Magnus.

The Losbäcks are brothers.

DECAMERON - MY SHADOW - NO FASHION
It is not surprising that with a name like Decameron, song titles like Satanized and The Scar of Damnation, a label like No Fashion and the odd inverted cross the average person would expect blazing, high speed black metal to rush out of the speakers. Decameron is that and more. The Swedish quartet does have all the above and is certainly blackened in stance, but where some bands would cloak themselves that way Decameron mixes the elements by infusing heavy, thrash, death and black metal. The variety is there but never distracts the band from playing "true metal" as they call it. With the collaboration of the likes of Jon Nodtveit of Dissection (who used to play in the band Satanized with assorted Decameron members) and lots of power the band is yet another successful export from Sweden. What makes this country so fertile for metal? - Ali "The Metallian"
