History & Biography
The Chilean death/grind band came to the attention of the underground scene through the demo The Beginning of Human Cruelty in the summer of 2003. In fact, the South American unit was formed as Splattered Excrements in 2001 by Claudio, Edvile, Fekalizator and guitarist Claudio Speed. Defacing entered the studio in 2004 with a beefed up line-up, having already played live with Dark Funeral, Pandemia and others, to record its debut album. The disc was issued in January, 2005 by Xtreem Music. Homicidal Satisfaction came five years later. Rotten Cemetery Records issued a compilation of the act’s music in 2020.

Reviews

DEFACING - SPITTING SAVAGERY - XTREEM
The name Claudio Popeye Old Seawolf will go down in the annals of heavy metal as one of the funniest ever. Mr. Seawolf's name is up there with the likes of Vaginal Necrosleazer and Baron Von Gonkulator as some of the best and inventive names in metaldom. Nevertheless, the band's music is nothing to sneeze at. One does not need the cover of Cryptopsy's Phobophile tagged to the end of the album to figure out that the Canadian masters have influenced the defacing barbarians. The music flies by at Disgorge speeds, while the singer howls in the best Lord Worm-imitation style possible. The drummer rattles to the tune of a high speed train during a derailment and the guitarists, well they have probably lost control too. Unfortunately though, the band does not come across as very dynamic which is a pity because the lack of variety has probably more to do with the weak sound than the actual compositions themselves. The production takes away from the band. Having said that, how much polish should one really expect from an album called Spitting Savagery? - Ali "The Metallian"
