History & Biography
The Copenhagen-based rock and hard rock Defecto came together in 2010 and released the self-titled demo in 2012. The band had come together through the amalgamation of singer Nicklas Sonne and the group Deviant. Frederik and Nicklas were childhood friends. Niklas was contacted by two producers, Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica) and Jan Langhoff (Aqua) to enquire about creating a project together. The band wanted to piggyback on this initially. Regardless, it took four years for a record to appear next and it was without the producers' label or involvement. The band's name was one Frederik Møller's brother had used and was simply borrowed now for this act. Drummer Jensen had joined in 2012.

The band was booked for Copenhell in 2016 and would be invited again in 2018. The second record appeared in 2017. There were videos for the songs Savage and Nemesis. Oddland was touring Europe with Persefone and Defecto in 2018. The third record was on a third label. Mikkel Christensen was the new drummer.

The band was performing at Næstved Metalfest in Denmark in August of 2024. The Denmark-based progressive metal group Defecto signed with Frontiers in 2025. Yes, fourth record on a fourth record. Echoes Of Isolation was slated for a Halloween release. The band was touring in late 2025 and had lined up the same with Nanowar Of Steel for 2026. The band was booked for the Port Of Hell show in late 2026.

Nicklas Sonne is the son of Mick Sonne who fronted the 1980s' band Wasted.
