History & Biography Portland, Oregon, USA-based Demise was ironically formed in the autumn of 1988 by Jason Dexter and Rick Schultz who had been playing together since 1986. The Endless Torment demo was recorded in 1989. The four songs on the
1990-recorded Inevitable Exit demo brought the band to the underground's attention a year later. Armed with new guitarist Hanawa, the band released a 7" called Devious Deception through the new label of Peardrop fanzine editor, Laurent. The new label was called Listenable Records. The band was offered a contract by another
French label, Modern Primitive, for a full-length which the band accepted. Unfortunately the label's owner Domino disappeared for some 18 months before getting back to the band asking for a new demo. A new
promo was recorded and dubbed Sadistic Summoning, but never released.
Demise was history soon thereafter.
