History & Biography Saarland, Germany-based Demon Incarnate came together in 2010 and has issued four demos by 2014, Demon Incarnate, Lunar Sun, Solarized and Reincarnation. The debut album, featuring demo tracks, arrived in the autumn of 2015 and further established the act’s doom/hard rock sound. There was a video for the song Demonized. Powerwolf’s Greywolf, also from Saarland, taped and mixed it. Darvaza, which meant ‘The Gate’ in Persian was a 2016 EP. Leaves Of Zaqqum portended the arrival of a new guitarist and rhythm section. The title referred to the Zaqqum tree poetry book. The tree was also referenced in Islam. Devil Jay, who had been an early guitarist, also returned. The group appeared at the SkullCrusher Fest Freiburg in 2022. Bassist Phil was also back. The band morphed into the doom metal act Shaytan in 2022. Vocalist Julian replaced the (former) female singer and the group decided to undertake a fresh start with a new name.
