History & Biography Der Kaiser was a French HM band founded in Paris with true-to-name stage customs. They were founded by the rhythm section and existed between 1981 and 1986. The band had to choose ‘Der Kaiser’ as ‘Kaiser’ was already taken. A writer for Metal Attack magazine managed the band. The band was working on a third album despite Claude’s departure, but instead threw in the towel.
Inevitably, the band reformed in 2008. The group performed at Paris Metal in 2009 and Headbangers Open Air in Germany in 2010. Claude "Klod" Thill left again 2014. Pierre Placines, who had taken up the mike in 1986, replaced him.
