History & Biography
The deathcore and death metal band was founded by Árni Hoffritz and Stefán Friðriksson in 2016. Depravity was the immediate demo. Singer Hermann Hoffritz left. The song Force Fed Human Feces explained why Iceland is free of McDonalds. Violently Torn Sphincter joined the 'sphincter' trend. The songs Stillborn Sextoy and Nunfucker showcased the band's sexy side. A small label released the debut album, Obliviora. The act was booked for a local show called Eistnaflug 2019 and a tour called European Perversion Tour with Lividity, Bastard’s Asylum, Sacrificial Slaughter and Bowel Evacuation. The Live Defilement demo was recorded in continental Europe on tour in 2019. The Primitive Gospel demo of 2020 soon evolved into the Primitive Gospel album of 2021. Guitarist Árni Hoffritz left in 2023. Freyr Hreinsson's arrival meant the band had two vocalists.

Time To Kill Records signed Iceland-based death metal group Devine Defilement in 2025. The new album, entitled Ruthless, was released in the spring. There was a video for the song Human Sewer. The fourth album was on the band's fourth label. The act had gigs in Iceland and continental Europe lined up.

The band relays that the band name's spelling stemmed from a misspelling error by the person who drew the logo.
