History & Biography
Rome, Italy-based DGM was founded as an instrumental band in 1994. The monicker was based on the initials of the three founding members, Diego Reali, Gianfranco Tassella and Maurizio Pariotti. Random Access Zone was a 1996 demo. The debut album arrived through Elevate/99th Floor in 1997. The progressive act played around Italy in 1998. Drummer Gianfranco Tassella would leave on amicable terms and would even produce the band’s next record again. Singer Titta Tani joined for Dreamland. The man was also drumming in other acts, like Necrophagia. The group switched to Scarlet Records for Hidden Place of 2003. DGM's Misplaced was released through Scarlet Records in late 2004. Since 2006, no original member remained in the band. This was the year guitarist Diego Reali left. The band had been less active, rarely playing live and not seeing much promotion for the Misplaced album from its label. Diego was replaced by Simone Mularoni (also a recording engineer) who was in the band Empyrios with keyboardist Casali. Emanuele Casali himself had joined DGM recently after being in the band Astra with singer Titta Tani. The latter man would end up leaving right away in 2007 however.

DGM released its fifth album, entitled Different Shapes, at the end of May 2007 through Scarlet Records. DGM was also confirmed to take part at Gods Of Metal 2007 festival alongside Symphony X, Dream Theater and Heaven & Hell. The band had played the same event in 2003. Mark Basile became the singer on Frame. ProgPower USA XI invited the band to play in 2010. The band had played ProgPower Europe in 2007. Synthesis was a DVD released in late 2010. DGM had performed a show for its 15th anniversary and recorded it. The release came with a bonus CD featuring self-cover versions. Symphony X, Pagan's Mind and DGM toured Europe in 2011. Circus Maximus, Appearance Of Nothing and DGM toured Europe in 2013. Russell Allen of Symphony X was a guest on Momentum.

Passing Stages: Live In Milan And Atlanta was a CD and DVD and partly recorded at ProgPower USA in 2014. The act had switched to Frontiers for The Passage of 2016. DGM played at Frontiers Metal Festival 2016 where Primal Fear headlined. The group was booked for Euskal Metal Fest 2017 and Very Prog Festival in 2018. Italy-based DGM had a video for the song Final Call, which was taken from the 2024 concept album, Endless, out through Frontiers on 31.10.2024. The album not only featured keyboards, but also violins and more!
