History & Biography In the northern part of Europe lies a low-lying country. In the eastern part of that realm lies a province called Overijssel, within which lurks a menace called The Dictated having gelled at a Cryptopsy show. Having formed as Stone Squad in Utrecht by Sonja Schuringa in 2006 the band set out to Suppressing All Who Refuse in 2008. Two years later it furthered its goal as a Summary Of Retribution. In February 2012, Dictated toured Europe with Origin and Psycroptic. Metal Blade Records signed the death metal band in spring of 2014. The band's album, The Deceived, was already independently recorded and would be released on August 15. Drummer Marten Van Kruijssen and singer Sven Van Dijk had left in 2013. Mart Wijnholds had left the bass position as well, but the band had been turfing bassists annually regardless.
The band went on hiatus and only returned in 2019 with a demo called Pobos. Koen Verstralen of Erebus was on bass.
