The keyboard-oriented first effort appeared at the beginning of 2005 and was released in Japan by King Records. The band also shot a video for the song The World´s On Fire. Veni Domine's Torbjörn Weinesjö was one of the many guest musicians on the album.

Reviews

DIVINEFIRE - GLORY THY NAME - RIVEL
Divinefire is yet another (white) metal band featuring Christian Rivel of, among others, Rivel Records, Audiovision and Narnia. Whether this man gets any sleep or eats anything is a good question, but on the musical side Divinefire is a band which mixes the speedy sounds of Children Of Bodom with the pomp of Freedom Call, Rhapsody and Labyrinth and heaps massive doses of keyboards all with lyrics hailing Jesus Christ. The band is almost orchestral with the massive layered instrumentation and involved arrangements. The backing vocals are everywhere and listeners will have a lot with which to contend. Having said that, the abundant keyboards and very commercial passages, like the one on Never Surrender, make the band unsuitable for fans of extreme music. Rivel has a very good voice however, which is surely an asset for Divinefire. He is also a man with commanding phrasing.. Moreover, the guitar can both shred and rip on the same song as the song Out Of Darkness demonstrates. Let us not forget the drums which on a song like The Spirit kick into double bass action and are even accompanied by growled vocals. Sadly, even this song has loads of incessant keyboards. All in all, Divinefire is a special band with outstanding musicians, but one which fans should approach with caution given the very commercial elements. - Ali "The Metallian"
