History & Biography D' Molls were a Chicago glam band with only limited success. The act was born in 1983. The band was often compared to Aerosmith and had relocated to LA where the name was changed. The act was in lingerie and playing out in order to obtain a recording contract, Ironically, co-founder Billy Dior had lived in Los Angeles for several years without luck prior to returning to Chicago. With Dior back in Chicago, the original D'Molls fired their drummer and pulled in the new returnee. Atlantic signed the band after the boys tried to start a bidding war. The single 777 got some attention on MTV. Rexx quit D'Molls and joined The David Lee Roth Band before Warped's release. D'Molls hung it up.
The year 1997 saw the band reunite to support a release, but the album featured older material from the mid-1980s. The band also appeared on Delinquent's Indie-Pendence sampler. Despite a previous announcement, D'Molls featuring S.S. Priest, Desi Rexx, Lizzy Valentine and Billy Dior, cancelled a reunion show due for January, 2007 in Hollywood.
Bang Tango and D’Molls were touring the USA’s Mid-West in November of 2009 for the Made, Laid And Paid In America 2009 20th-anniversary tour. Rexx released Desi Rexx's D'Moll's D'Sides on FnA Records in 2011. It featured rare and unreleased material. Dior sued Poison for copyright infringement in 2015. He claimed several Poison songs were co-written by him given how he was in Kid Rocker and Screamin' Mimis with C.C. Deville prior to D'Molls. The suit was settled. He also published an autobiographical novel called Beat Me Till I'm Famous. Rexx started a band called D'Molls 777 in 2018. He had become a Latter Day Saint and believed a bunch of stuff like the prophet had landed in New York and so forth. S.S. Priest died in 2024.
