History & Biography From Dark Funeral, three band members formed DC whose moniker and debut deals with the rise and fall (and other stories) of the Roman Empire. Musically the band mixes doom, with speed and a little other oddities.
Reviews DOMINION CALIGULA - same - NO FASHION
Dominion Caligula is the long heralded band of former Hypocrisy man Masse Broberg and fellow Dark Funeralers Gaahnfaust and Dominion. Despite the redundant (small) presence of K&F (keyboards and female vocals), DC is a metal band whose sounds maintains a mid-paced approach and doesn't stray far from riffs developed by the likes of Hypocrisy and Edge of Sanity. It's respectable material and especially singer Broberg puts in a menacing showing with enough snarly hate throughout. I have no lyrics, but the band is said to have a theme of Roman decadence and debauchery in mind (hence the band moniker) which would also explain the weaker link of female vocals every once in a while on this. Surprisingly produced by Peter Tägtgren (the man who kicked Broberg out of Hypocrisy) the disc has a strong sound and over all a nice change for death metal fans. - Ali "The Metallian"
