History & Biography
The grindcore act, centred around Broken Hope man Jeremy Wagner, came together in 2001. Earth Burner (with that spelling) was a Broken Hope song from its Grotesque Blessings album of 1999. Broken Hope's Scott Creekmore (vocals), Jeremy Wagner (guitars), Fleshgrind's Steve Murray (guitars), Putrid Pile's Shaun LaCanne (bass) and drummer Jeff Bumgardner formed Earthburner to replace the then recently split-up Broken Hope, Earthburner demoed five tracks for labels with titles like Hardwired To Kill, Brain Food and Flesh Mechanic in 2002.

Earthburner recorded an EP in 2011 with Jeremy Wagner on guitar, vocalist Ryan Richards, and drummer Mike Miczek. The trio chose three tracks picked specifically for a 3-song EP that they recorded at Mercenary Digital Studios with Scott Creekmore. Moreover, Earthburner filmed a video for the track Total War. This was eventually uploaded in 2016, but the band had gone to earth due to Broken Hope’s reformation in 2012.

Earthburner, featuring Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner, regrouped for its debut album, Permanent Dawn, which was recorded at Criteria Recording Studio and mixed by Scott Creekmore (Broken Hope, Putrid Pile, Morta Skuld, etc.). Actually, there were two versions of the record, an analog and a digital one. Mike Fuller had mastered the digital version while Scott Creekmore mastered the analog. M-Theory Audio signed Earthburner to release Permanent Dawn later in 2024. A song called Slaves To The Screen arrived in advance. Singer Devin Swank and bassist Tyler Affinito (step-son of Jeremy Wagner) had joined in 2023. Tyler had exhorted his step father to resurrect the band. The band was booked for Heavy Chicago II in November 2024.
