History & Biography
There are so many bands on the metal scene that even after changing its monicker four times and having five names this Singapore-based black metal act could not find a unique name, threw in the towel and just shared a name with other bands in other parts of the world. Extremist was founded by fourteen-year-old thrashing schoolboy Shalwend in 1987 and the band kept changing names until 1993 brought Eibon.

Cemetery had two demos and the band had already begun to wear face paint. Eibon, which was led by frontman Shalwend, released The Garden Of Theophrastus demo in 1995. It was recorded over the course of three days in Malaysia. The line-up here was Shalwend, bassist Azrael, drummer Ayong , Daughter Adonay and Nisha female vocals and a guy called Angra Mainyu living out his Elton John fantasy on piano. Most bands and labels hate the underground and so, as is typical, the band found a quasi-label to re-release this. The next demo arrived in 2003. It was called Ineffable Prodigious Odyssey. The band was heard on the Eastern Damnation compilation in 2010. 5 Ways Holocaust was the next compilation the act appeared on. This took the band all the way to 2021 and a label re-issued the group’s new demo.

Crudified was mixed and mastered by Nizam (ex-Impiety) of Studio47 in Singapore. This time it did not take years for the act to follow-up and a short demo, called Barzakh Extravaganza, appeared in 2022. The Garden Of Theophrastus was re-released by Rude Awakening Records in late 2022. The 2003 demo was added as a bonus.

Lord Archonum, like Konundrum also formerly of Behemoth, had joined the band on bass as of 2021 and the group was promising a new album for 2023.

Eibon follows the elements with The Garden Of Theophrastus being the earth, Crudified being fire and the next recording promising to be the water.
