History & Biography
Ellende's photography has featured a duo or a full quintet (as well as a solo artist) over the years, but fact is that the act has been the domain of corpse painted Lukas Gosch since its founding in 2011. Fact also is that with titles like "atmospheric" black metal, "ambient" black metal or "post black metal" metal fans should approach the act with keyboards and violins (see the cover of Todbringer) with caution. L.G. played bass in Svarta between 2014 and 2021. Musicians like Harakiri In The Sky's live drummer P.F. or Sirrush's guitarist G.T. have been concert musicians here. Harakiri In The Sky and Ellende were both billed at Dark Easter Metal Meeting in 2017.

Rückzug In Die Innerlichkeit was the 2012 demo. Talheim Records released the debut album in the summer of 2013. It was called Ellende and established the band's use of the German language. Indeed, the band reported that its name stemmed from the German word for being exiled. Then there was an EP called Weltennacht in 2014. Fen signed with Mythology Booking Agency and announced a tour with Harakiri For The Sky and Ellende for the UK for the autumn of 2023. The album title for 2024's Todbringerin was the feminine form for, and referenced, 2016's Todbringer. A European tour was set up for Ellende, Groza and Servant in 2024.

Austria-based "post black metal" band Ellende has an album called Zerfall through AOP Records in January of 2026.

Gosch is responsible for the act's artwork.
