History & Biography
Lombardy’s Embryo was hatched in 2000 from the ashes of Lost Fate. The band issued two demos, The Source Of Hate in 2001 and Promo 2002, before returning with an album in 2006. Promo 2009 lead to another full-length, No God Slave. Christian J. Cobos had left in 2007, but returned in 2013. Andrea had filled the slot in the meantime. In 2014, Embryo announced it would appear at Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic with David Folchitto (Stormlord) who would keep on cooperating with the band for its upcoming new album and promotional gigs. On July 20th, however, the band would play at Total Metal Festival with Federico Paulovich (Destrage). Nicola was now on bass. Logic(il)logic Records signed Embryo, for the release of its new self-titled full-length album, recorded at Domination Studio by Simone Mularoni with Fleshgod Apocalypse's drummer Francesco Paoli as special guest. Moreover, logic(il)logic would re-release the band’s previous album, No God Slave, originally published in 2010 with bonus tracks. The band was touring Eastern Europe next month. The act was continuing its promotion of its self-titled album, which was released on February 10th through logic(il)logic Records, through 2016 shows in Europe. The band was, among others, sharing the stage with Nile and Melechesh. Enea Passarella was on drums.

The band signed with Art Gates Records in 2017 and announced it would issue an album that year. The fourth LP was called A Step Beyond Divinity and out on October 27th through AGR. Gabriel Pignata of Destrage would join Embryo on stage for the next Italian gigs and future shows as of 2019. Misguided Legacy was a 2019 EP. Logic Il Logic Records and Burning Minds Music Group issued Shameless, the new single from Eugenio Sambasile’s solo project. Roberto Pasolini left due to family issues, but returned later that year.

Rockshots Records signed Embryo and released the A Vivid Shade On Misery album on March 17th 2023. The act had earlier signed with The Flaming Arts Agency. The band recruited freelance Greek drummer George Kollias. The previous album A Step Beyond Divinity was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci; this new work was inspired by Michelangelo Merisi a.k.a. Caravaggio. The band played in Eastern Europe including at Rockstadt Extreme Fest. Alex Zanoni was on bass and Michele Soglia was on drum. Eugenio Sambasile’s solo project uploaded a song called An Emptied Soul through Logic Il Logic to begin 2025. It revolved around depression and self-harm, which the man stated he knows first-hand. Embryo was writing music.
