History & Biography
Based out of Toronto, Canada, the band was formed in February 1997 by former Pain members. Within a year they signed with Now & Then Records after recording Broken Saviors. After the release the act loses drummer Boyle. Over in England the band not only plays its own set at the Gods Festival but also acts as the band for ex-Magnum man Bob Catley. Album number two was recorded in the summer of 1999 and the band again plays Gods in England and tours. The band records a live show in Oshawa and releases it as Live 2K. They lose Lazenka at this point who returns to his original band Very Jive. Perplexed In The Extreme was recorded with studio session man Randy Cooke.

Reviews

EMERALD RAIN - AGE OF INNOCENCE - FRONTIERS/ MAJESTIC
What!! A Canadian rock band?? You mean not everybody is brain washed by the hip hop whores of the media!? Yup, no bad poetry put to a loop here. Emerald Rain, formerly Pain, is a melodic Canadian band with emphasis on vocal harmonies (often doubled up) and sing - along melodies. The guitars (nicely done on The Method) constantly wail and are almost a trade mark here as such. The band does slow down for acoustic ballads, but ER is mostly about melody and clean rock. The band is good at what they do - in fact they have supported Bob Catley in Europe - and are worthy of those with an ear for melody. - Ali "The Metallian"
