History & Biography These impressionable young lads hailed from Blackpool in England and were Century Media's attempt at penetrating the soft fan market of My Dying Bride, Anathema, etc. They were formed in 1991 and had a 1992 demo called A Tear For Young Eloquence. Drummer Nicholas Barker engineered the demo. The group had just changed its name twice after evolving from playing mere death metal cover versions. Having cried a bit there, more tears flowed when they were booted right after the sales results of their debut came in. The only excitement comes when the band, label and producer/studio's verbal battle and claims and counterclaims regarding where the band had actually recorded. Whilst the band and label claimed Academy Studios with Hammy; Hammy was adamant that the band had never worked there or with him!
Enchantment's 1994 album Dance The Marble Naked, which was issued by Century Media on April 11th, was receiving its first US release through Transcending Records in July 2020. The band’s demo was included. Of course, the band had reformed (in 2019) and subsequently Transcending issued an album called Cold Soul Embrace. This album comprised of older music partly. Aiden Baldwin of Blanket was the session drummer after the group’s original drummer quit shortly after the reformation. The band had a ballerina on the cover of the new record potentially to prove to their old fans that nothing has changed. However, this was a heavy one sunk to the bottom of the pond. The band appeared at Dead Of Winter festival in Glasgow, Scotland to begin 2024.
