History & Biography
Back To The Front was the name of a 2014 album that was recorded in 2013 by four members of the most recent line-up of Entombed, namely singer Lars Göran Petrov (vocals), Nico Elgstrand (guitar), Victor Brandt (bass) and drummer Olle Dahlstedt (drums). The album would be issued as Entombed A.D. given the exclusion of guitarist Alex Hellid who had not participated in the 2013 Entombed tour.

Singer Lars Göran Petrov and guitarist Victor Brandt joined with Unleashed and Necrophobic guitarist Fredrik Folkare and bassist Alex Friberg (Necrophobic) to form a death metal band called Fireborn. The band was seeking a drummer. Deicide would headline the fifth edition of the annual Metal Alliance tour in 2015. Support on the tour would come from Entombed A.D., Hate Eternal, Black Crown Initiate and another band. April 2015 would see the return of Europe's HateFest Tour. Six Feet Under would headline the bill. Stepping in for the Six Feet Under bass player, Jeff Hughell who was becoming a father, was Victor Brandt from Entombed. Due to financial problems, Continental Concerts cancelled the Metal Alliance Tour. Deicide was continuing on its own. Entombed A.D. was booted from the shows as well.

Guitarist Alex Hellid and L.G. Petrov of Entombed were involved in a legal battle over the Entombed name for several years. Petrov won the right to use the monicker and subsequently released an album and toured as Entombed AD despite Hellid’s objection. The guitarist then registered the name Entombed and started a beverage business called Entombed with the Swedish patent office’s approval. Entombed A.D., with former singer LG, would conduct a North American tour in January 2017 including one show in Vancouver. Support came from Full Of Hell and Turbid North. Entombed A.D. returned with a new single, called Fit For A King, in 2018. The song was taken from the band’s untitled future album. Hellavista joined Vader and Entombed A.D. on tour through Europe in 2018. Entombed A.D. released a new album, called Bowels Of Earth, through Century Media on August 30th. Guilherme Miranda was the second guitarist now. Amorphis wanted to commemorate its 1994 album Tales From The Thousand Lakes on a Canadian tour in September 2020. The album was to be played in its entirety. Opening the tour were Entombed A.D. and Nervosa. LG Petrov had cancer and reported that it is terminal in 2020. Lars-Göran Petrov died of bile duct cancer on Sunday, March 7th 2021 at age 49.

Entombed played a special set at Gefle Metal Festival in Gävle, Sweden in the summer of 2022, which included a tribute to its estranged late singer L.G. Petrov. Former singer Johnny Hedlund, drummer Peter Stjärnvind and bassist Jörgen Sandström joined the members on stage, as did Peter’s wife Pla on vocals. The band played several songs with two drummers. Cronos (Venom), Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates) and Scott Carlson (Repulsion) made appearances. Volbeat dedicated the song Becoming, which features a riff and sound inspired by Entombed to LG in 2022.
