History & Biography
The France-based funeral doom/death band forged ahead as Epitaph between 2009 and 2016, but was forced to yield to reality of the commonness of its monicker and change to Epitaphe in 2016. In the meantime, the school friends played cover versions and moved around Europe. Demo MMXVII was distributed by Chaos Records in that year. The tracks re-appeared on the band’s I album in 2019. II was also recorded at Plastic Lobster Studio.

Epitaphe release a third full-length album, III, through Aesthetic Death (CD/LP) and Gurgling Gore (MC) on September 11th, 2026. Saxophones were de rigueur so PB was also playing saxophones. DRZ was no longer part of the line-up.

The members also initiated a band called Eventide. This was a drone act using material generated during the II session. The Eventide album of 2024 begins with a chord from II's Melancholia.
