History & Biography
The band was founded in 2008 and presented its Covered In Decadence demo in 2009. The song, and a couple of cover versions, appeared on a split with Inside Hatred. The material was further recycled and added to the 2011 demo, Rex Verminorum. Hellthrasher Productions issued the band's debut record, Excruciating Existence, in 2012. The band was not happy with the record and had it remixed, resulting in a changed product for the Brazilian territory. A couple of additional split releases led to Interitus. The Funeral Rites European Tour 2016 also featured Venomous Breath. Maurício Souza had arrived for the third record after initially leaving in 2017. The band went dark - although gigs featured drummer Márcio Jordanne - until the Through The Depths Of The 12th Gate EP of 2022. This release featured one song from the band and a cover version. Dysthymia was a short 29 minutes long and contained a cover version again. It was recorded as a trio even though a guitarist called Alex Hahn contributed. This man would further join the act. Goath, which featured Elian in its ranks, and the band toured Brazil in 2023.

The band was booked for the Obscene Extreme Festival and In Flammen Open Air in 2024. Vitor Giovanni left the band after 13 years of service. The band was on Everlasting Spew Records next. Inexorable Entropy was available in May 2025. Gabriel Dantas was on bass after initially leaving in 2011. The same man had picked the band's monicker. The band was touring Mexico upon the album's release. The group had also booked a European tour for later in the year.

Escarnium's Victor Elian is a roadie and bus driver in Europe and Brazil and is also based in Germany.

ESCARNIUM - INEXORABLE ENTROPY - EVERLASTING SPEW
Inexorable Entropy opens with an intro about fentanyl, which should be the epitome of actual and bona fide horror and menace. The foolishness of taking drugs, and one like fentanyl to boot, is so apparent that one has to wonder at the degree of the illness afflicting the users' mind. Inexorable Entropy is a dark tonally bass recording replete with deep growls, some cool drumming that, while not the sharpest, is delivered with conviction.
The title track offers a fine solo. There is some screeching tremolo action on the horrific Revulsion Of Carbon. The bass also rears its ugly head on this track. The title Through The Depths Of the 12th Gate is recycled from 2022. Ashen Path is a short instrumental that leads to the closing cut, which is reminiscent of Morbid Angel from its B/C era.
The character on the cover perfectly represents the image of the singer as the growls drift into the listener's skull. Escarnium is for folks who enjoy Morbid Angel, albeit without the technicality, Incantation and distinctive disharmonic chords. - Ali "The Metallian"
