Reviews EUROFORCE - same - SONIC AGE
Euroforce is a young band formed by several qualified Greek musicians. It is clear that guitarist and founder Theodore Ziras can play and singer Jioti Parcharidis can hit the right notes. The songs are pleasant and the melodies admirable. One of the problem is that the mix completely favours the vocals. The rest of the band clearly is drowned by the singer. Even the many backing vocals are buried. More importantly, contrary to the band's name, this act is too poppy and soft to be considered real metal. In fact, Euroforce could be considered the bridge between pop mainstream music and hard rock. The whole affair is simply too cute. Sure, the guitar zooms like Yngwie Malmsteen occasionally and the singer screams his heart out, but the prevalent melodies and singable harmonies do not leave much room for heaviness here. There is not one gritty guitar chord anywhere in sight. Instead, fans of the more melodic Yngwie Malmsteen, Kamelot or Stratovarius would be attracted to this debut with lyrical references to Greece. - Anna Tergel
