History & Biography Spain's official entry into the International Association Of Musical Groups Named Excalibur - whose membership composed of several hundreds acts - had the advantage that it was one of the earlier bands with the monicker. It was founded in 1984. It was active for 10 years before disbanding. Demo 1 was issued in 1984, Demo 2 in 1987 and a debut record arrived in 1988.
The band did the time-honoured obligatory reunion thing, but to its credit had amazingly retained its line-up. Spain-based Excalibur had its Generación Maldita album reissued by Fighter Records. The 30th anniversary of Generación Maldita included two re-recorded songs as bonus, which were intended for the original version, but were not recorded due to lack of budget. It was out in the winter. The band gave a 35th anniversary concert in December of 2018.
Fighter Records issued the unreleased sophomore album by Spain-based hard rock act Excalibur. Entitled Cero and stemming from 1996, the album was released on CD as well as a limited print run of 250 copies on 12"LP vinyl through Fighter Records on the 24th of March 2020. It was in fact originally a demo.
