History & Biography The group was founded in 2004 and had a 2005 demo called Syndrome. Germany-based Yonah signed the act and the debut Opinion Converter was out in 2007. One of the founding guitarists, Jens Kelschenbach, had left in 2010. Face Down Hero’s False Evidence Appearing Real album was out through Yonah Records in mid-2017. The band’s style was thrash metal. The band reported that guitarist Marc Kollmann joined in 2020. The group appeared at Chaostraum Open Air in 2023 and opened for Apophis and Burden Of Grief.
Face Down Hero returned with a 2026 demo called The Ecstasy Of Cold. Face Down Hero was booked for a show at the Purgatory for July of 2026.
The band’s monicker was taken from a Forbidden song, namely Face Down Heroes from the Green album. The group has opened for the likes of Gorilla Monsoon, Accu§er, Flotsam And Jetsam, Tankard and Sodom.
