History & Biography
The Allains founded the band in 2006. The Ancient Sorrow and Onset Of Winter demos followed. These lead to a deal with Code666 for the black metal band and a debut called The Malediction Fields. Havenless joined in 2016. UK-based FEN issued its Winter album through Code666 to start 2017. The band played black metal. The band witched to Prophecy Productions and released The Dead Light in 2019. Havenless left in 2020 and JG stepped in. For Ukraine, For Freedom was a compialtion featuring the band, Ven Buens Ende, Bethlehem and others in 2022. Monuments To Absence of 2023 was supported through a video for Scouring Ignorance. The record was actually taped in 2021. The band signed with Mythology Booking Agency and announced a tour with Harakiri For The sky and Ellende for the UK for the autumn of 2023. The band was playing Damnation Festival, ten years after its first appearance, London's Incineration festival and Ragnarök Festival in 2024. The trio was beginning 2025 with gigs in Greece and Bulgaria.

The group’s monicker is inspired by the British district called The Fens, which is comprised of marshes and lowlands in Eastern England. An earlier Canadian band also claimed the monicker.
