History & Biography
Ferum was founded in Bologna during 2017 when Angelica and Samantha decided to start a band with the aim of playing death doom metal. Later joined by Matteo on bass the trio started the writing process for the first release with Samantha writing all the music later arranged with Angelica and Matteo. Ferum’s Vergence EP was issued through Everlasting Spew Records on the 14th of December 2018. Enrico Annovi was a guest guitarist. Angelica left in 2021.

Italy and Estonia-based death/doom group, as Samantha had moved to Estonia in 2020, Ferum completed the works on its debut album Asunder/Erode, which would be released through Unorthodox Emanations on August 19th 2022. A single called Halfhead was available first. Marthe hired Matteo as its live bassist in 2024. Drummer Are was a session player.

Ferum means ‘wild’ in Latin. Samantha and Are ran Sügis Productions and a venue called The Krypt in Estonia.
