History & Biography
The black metal band was founded in 1995 and quickly iterated through several monickers before landing on its permanent one. The word is the past participle of ‘förgöra’ and means ‘destroyed.’ It also could be construed as ‘Cursed.’ The early line-up was Prokrustes Thanatos, bassist Fullmoon and full-time drummer Hypnos. The band members were focusing on jamming and learning their instruments.

The Fratres Militiae Inferi appeared in 2001 only. The act was singer and drummer Prokrustes Thanatos and Valgrinder on guitar and bass. The 2002 demo was named Tie, Totuus & Kuolema. The band’s debut album was in no rush either. It was released in 2008. The band and Musta Kappeli split a 7” in 2009. The next album was called Sielunvihollinen, was issued in 2012 and remained on Hammer Of Hate. The band and NSBM band Nekrokrist SS recorded a split and collaboration here. The band again took its time with the record after that, which was available in 2017. It was on the Werewolf label. Blk was the new drummer here. From here on the band became more productive and releases became more regular. Ruumissaarna Pt. 1 was out in 2022, but the band’s Ruumissaarna pt. II - Kuinka Hiipuu Liekki Hulluinkin demo of 2021 had preceded it!

Finland-based black metal act Förgjord had a video for the song Käärmeenkieli, which was taken from the band’s latest album, Perkeleen Weri. It was released through Werewolf Records.

The band’s themes include Satan, depression and Finnish folklore and recent history.
