History & Biography
Funebre was one of the many extreme and underground acts formed in Finland in the late '80s. Born in 1988 the band proceeded to release a couple of demos (Cranial Torment and Funebre) and a single (1990’s Brainspoon through Whisper In The Darkness Records) before obtaining a deal with Spinefarm. Timo Tolkki of Stratovarius produced Children Of Scorn. Vähäsöyrinki had switched to guitar on the record. Funebre split up soon after the record was issued.

Paradise Lost et al may have influenced Funebre. The band’s sole album was re-issued by Xtreem Music in 2004 with new artwork and the music from the group’s demos. The same label issued the band’s demo as the Cranial Torment CD in 2012.
