History & Biography
Funeral Oration’s history goes all the way back to its 1989 formation when it was formed as Putrefaction. This monicker was quickly changed and the band laboured on until its dissolution in 1997. Unbelievably, although it is becoming a cliche, the band reformed and reappeared in 2017. Early demos were called Come Here with Us… (1990), Domine A Morte... Libera Me (1992) and Promo XXX A.S. 1995 E.V.

Avantgarde issued the group’s debut album in 1996. Sursum Luna featured singer The Old Nick, guitarist (and piano player) Luca, bassist Fabban and drummer Rodolfo. The reformed line-up came with Luca and The Old Nick intact. Avantgarde issued Funeral Oration’s Eliphas Love in 2019. Iblis A.G. became the bassist in 2019. He was one of those instruments-for-hire. Avantgarde Music was issuing Funeral Oration’s Antropomorte full-length in 2024.
