History & Biography
The oddly-named Furbowl was former Carnage man Axelsson's band. It reunited two old friends, Axelsson/Liiva and Thornell who had played together in the mid-80's in Max And The Chainsaws, The first release was a demo called The Nightfall Of Your Heart from 1991. A fellow Carnager can be heard on this tape. An LP called Those Shredded Dreams was released by Step One Records. To support it the band did select shows in Belgium and Germany. A single was also announced for Cenotaph Records that vanished in tandem with the label. The band had a rocky heavy metal sound and had limited success given the style and the record company.

The band had already called it a day when Axelsson reunited with old Carnage mate Amott to form Arch Enemy. Liiva is the maiden name of Johan Axelsson's mother. Wonderflow - sans Johan who had departed Furbowl in 1994 - signed to MNW and released an EP called 20th Century Egyptian. Coincidentally, Furbowl's last album featured an album jacket adorned with ancient Egyptian art.

In 2008, the band was going into the studio with its 1994 line-up in order to rerecord older songs! Vic Records, which had signed Hearse featuring Johan Liiva of Furbowl, would release the debut from Furbowl, Those Shredded Dreams, again on October 26th of 2009. Vic Records released The Forgotten Tapes in 2023. It featured demo material for a proposed third Furbowl album.
