History & Biography
The band plays grindcore since 1997 although the group went on a hiatus for a year beginning 1998. The founding members were William (drums, guitar and vocals) and Rikard (guitar and bass). Early demos were 1997’s Imitation Of The Grim Reaper and 200’s Promo 00. There was a split with Exhumed and another with several Swedish bands like Disfear and Birdflesh. Relapse signed the band and issued Remote in 2004. Titles came in English and Swedish. Relapse Records issued Gadget’s The Great Destroyer album on March 4th. This album followed its predecessor by ten years. Kristofer Jankarls, of Infanticide and more, started filling in on guitar and bass in 2019. Singer Emil Englund left in the autumn of 2019. Gadget and Retaliation had an independent split single in 2021. Emilia Henriksson became the singer in 2022. The band was opening for Massgrav in Stockholm in late 2023 and had appeared at Gefle Metal Fest. The act was working on a new EP. The band was booked for the Ostamman show and Close-Up Baten cruise in 2025.

Gadget issued new music in the form of a new EP, called Coerced, through De:Nihil Records in May of 2026. The release featured a self-cover version of a 2020 song called Funerary Rites. This mini-album featured Emilia Henriksson on vocals and Kristofer Jankarls on guitar.
