History & Biography If only Genghis Khan knew that for millennia his name would be a money-maker…. This particular namesake came together by schoolboys Brian Blake and Struzzi in Pittsburgh, PA. in 1985 to speed it up and issued demos called The Awakening (with bassist Mark Adonis) in 1986 and The Passage (with bassist Mark Popovich) in 1989 before returning to Mongo… and disappearing. The band returned in 2012, recruited Keith Uram and in 2014 issued a demo called The Second Coming. The men signed a deal with Heaven And Hell Records in 2017, which planned to reissue the band’s back catalog including 1986’s The Awakening demo and The Passage from 1989. The rerelease was simply called The Awakening & The Passage. The act played a gig in 2017 and became as inactive as before. No word came on the promised new recordings the band had reported.
After writing books with titles like The Christmas Secret and The Last Disciple, James B Struzzi/Jim Struzzi became a right-wing politician in Pennsylvania. He advocated against freedom to have an abortion and was a member of the Republican Party. He even voted against the government enforcing public health protocols and checking for vaccinations in the midst of a global pandemic. The Blakes are brothers.
