History & Biography
The grinders were formed in 2006 by former hater Eternal Hersemann in Tampa, Florida. The Footsteps of Gigan demo appeared in 2007. Index Entertainment soon issued it. The band’s name stands for a Kaiju, a mythical Japanese sea creature that fights Godzilla. The band toured with the likes of Vital Remains next.

Gigan, featuring guitarist Eric Hersemann (ex-Diabolic and Hate Eternal), would release a new album, called Quasi-Hallucinogenic Sonic Landscapes, on June 7th through Willowtip Records. Gigan was on the road in the USA in late 2013 in support of its Multi-Dimensional Fractal Sorcery And Super Science full-length, which was released in October of 2013 through Willowtip Records. New drummer Cotton had sat behind the band’s drum kit in 2009 and 2010. Jerry Kavouriaris joined on vocals in 2017. Rajan Davis joined on bass in 2019. The debut album’s drummer Danny Ryan died on March 4th 2022. Gigan had an album called Anomalous Abstractigate Infinitessimus through Willowtip Records in October 2024. It was the band’s first album in seven years.
