History & Biography Active since 1991, Gorgon played as the headliner in Italy with Opera IX in 1994 and recorded its first album, The Lady Rides A Black Horse, which was released on CD in 1995. Its lyrics dealt with dark subjects. Reign Of Obscenity was released in 1996 and re-issued in a cassette version by Slovakian label Osiris Productions a year later. The CD featured an interactive CD-ROM. During an open air show with Agressor and others in 1996 Gorgon was stopped after 17 minutes of playing due to use of blood and the reaction of the audience. Bassist Cyril Chatelet joined in 1997. The Jackal Pact was a demo from 1998. The Spectral Voices demo of 2000 included bagpipes and such. Gorgon disbanded in 2001. The group was the subject of several re-issues over the years. A split CD with the band O.T.A.L. (Ordo Templi Aeternae Lu) changed hands through three French labels before its eventual release. The Gorgon contribution comprised of unreleased songs, alternate mixes and cover versions. Evoking The Ancient Forces was a compilation. Chris reformed the name in 2017 and joined Osmose. He had a session drummer (Remi of Dissident and Crusher) in tow.
Another Gorgon was active in Paris, France between 2013 and 2019.
