History & Biography
Grief, obviously, was a doom band that sounded mournful and had achieved an underground following. Upon splitting in 2001 the band blamed the scene for a lack of support for doom metal in general.

The band had several 7"s including one with Dystopia and Corrupted each. An album called Turbulent Times appeared in 2002 through Southern Lord, which was merely a compilation record. The group reunited for one show at the first annual New England Grind And Doom Fest on July 17th, 2005 at at The Living Room in Providence, RI. There was a live record and the band quit in early 2009. The group came back in 2015 as Come To Grief. The Worse Of Times was a 2017 EP. Pray For The End was a 2020 EP. The prayers failed and When The World Dies full-length was issued in 2022. Jon Morse was the latest bassist as of 2022. Translation Loss also released a compilation, entitled Killed By Life, in 2023.
