History & Biography
The death metal band Grim Legion was founded in 1988, disbanded in 1991 after issuing multiple demos, obeyed the rules of the metal scene and reformed (in 2011) and issued full-length albums. Early demos were Beyond The Grave (1990), Grim Legion (1991) and Of Hell (also 1991). Mara was on bass. Joseph Inga was on drums.

The 2011 demo featured new songs and cover versions. Sacrificial Blood drummer Mike Keller came and went. The 2014 album, which shared a title with the previous demo, was out in March of 2014. Vile and Exhumed was a 2018 single. The group disbanded before returning again. Harbingers Of Death was issued in July of 2026.

Reviews

GRIM LEGION - HARBINGERS OF DEATH - HORROR PAIN GORE DEATH
Incantation, Death, Asphyx and Entombed's debut. They are all here along with a few horror-themed overdubs. The intro initially sounds like audio lifted from an erotic scene before it becomes clear that it's the sound of a woman in distress. The line between pleasure (sex) and suffering (torture) is obviously blurred. This is organic and primitive death metal with horrific growls that are surprisingly easy to decipher. Track two, Found Dead, rips off Grave's Extremely Rotten Flesh. Track three, Planet Of The Dead, features doom/death metal that could easily pass as a Morgoth song. The album has simple solos that come from the Morgoth school of death metal too. Seraphic Decay blends early Morbid Angel with Morgoth once again and that's no scam. The song speeds vary, but Harbingers Of Death lives up to its title, delivering dangerous riffs and deadly tones from start to finish. It is not as dangerous as a female behind the wheel of a car, but dangerous all the same.
Whatever petri dish spawned these musicians, the result is one brutally potent death metal mix. - Ali "The Metallian"
