History & Biography One of the bigger goregrind bands around, Gutalax was founded in the spring of 2009. First order of business was the Mondo Cadavere and Telecockies' split release for the band and Cannibe in 2010. Gutalax was singer Maty, guitarist Pida, bassist Kebab and drummer Pouřik.
The band alternated the Czech titles with the English ones for its debut full-length, which was released in May of 2011. The album was called Shit Beast. The shit-themed album was ridden with d-beats and mallcore too and introduced guitarists Pruduch and Kojas. Much of the material was growled without any text or lyrics. The band opened Obscene Extreme 2012, After a sampler called Stinking Collection the band defecated a new album called Shit Happens! This one was flushed by Rotten Roll Rex. Kohy (ex-Pisstolero) joined Kojas on guitar and Mr. Free was on drums. A DVD, culled from material like an appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival in 2014, was called Art Of Shitting in 2017. No word how many proud parents bought it for their toddlers. The cover artwork was truly liberating. There was a mini-tour with Benighted in 2017. The band was booked for Party.San Metal Open Air 2019 and Brutal Assault 2019.
The act released The Shitpendables in late 2021. It was supported through a video for the song Shitbusters. Kojas was the last guitarist standing. The band and Spam toured Europe in 2022. The band was busily on the road all the time. Live at Brutal Assault 2019 was released independently in 2024. The band was headlining a European tour in January, 2025 and a South American one in March, 2025. Birdflesh was supporting them in Europe. Anime Torment, Basement Torture Killings and Brutal Sphincter were opening select dates. The American tour was dubbed Diarrhea Invasion. The group was billed at the Karpaty Hard Fest in the Czech Republic in 2025. Live at Bloodstock 2023 was a 2025 demo. The band was booked for Australia in the autumn. Gutalax was booked for Wacken and Kaltenbach Open Air in 2026.
NBF is a hardcore band. Guttalax is a laxative. The band is known for its tongue-in-cheek presentation and energetic concerts where they have appeared clad in toilet paper. The song titles often allude to films. The band has called its music gore ‘n’ roll.
