History Hair Of The Dog was formed in Michigan in 1993, but soon relocated to
Los Angeles. The band garnered some success with its debut with the
mainstream media and hit the touring circuit with, among others, Ratt.
This album was re-released by Spitfire in 2001. Johnny Evans had been
replaced following the debut's release by Indiana native Nick Barker.
Evans was eventually replaced by Nashville-native Mike Dupke who had
been recommended to HOTD by Cinderella's Fred Coury. Michael Wagener
produced Rise. The album was supported via a tour as openers for Skid
Row and Motorhead.
Sepetys quit in early 2001 citing a little-known disease as cause.
Tuff's bassist Brian Saunders joined the band on guitar.
