History & Biography
The band was founded in 2008. A local label issued the Vilst Er Síðsta Fet EP two years later. The band won the Wacken Metal Battle competition at Wacken Open Air in 2012. The local label issued the group’s first full-length. The second one was on Metal Blade. Its title meant ‘Body Of Mist’ in English. A tour of Scandinavia was announced in 2018. The group was booked for the Metal Gates Festival 2019. John left and guitarist Eyðun Í Geil Hvannastein joined in 2020. The singer’s other band Iotunn garnered a deal with Metal Blade thanks to his established connection.

Ódn was the name of a live single in 2019. The band reported that the song Deyðir Varðar was recorded during a solar eclipse. Heidra, Hamferð and Omnium Gatherum performed together in 2019. Jenus returned to the bass position in 2021. It was not until 2024 that another full-length emerged. The story behind Men Guðs Hond Er Sterk was drawn from a 1915 whaling disaster off the Faroe Island village of Sandvik where Joensen lives. Fourteen locals died driving whales ashore during a storm. This relates back to the monicker as well.

The band’s monicker refers to an epiphany regarding missing sailors in the local language. The band's music incorporates "goth" and "folk" and is "post-metallic" too and so thanks to the group's publicist metal fans know to approach the act with hesitation and caution.
