History & Biography
The band from France, or actually Germany, was founded in 2015 and released its debut Kingdom Of The Hammer King through Cruz Del Sur. Former Ross The Boss man Fox (a.k.a. Patrick Fuchs) was leading the banging although, er, legend had it that the members were handpicked by the hammer king. This is why all albums tell the tales of the hammer king. Albums, songs and artwork touch on mythical heroes and characters. Members came from Ivory Night. The group was booked for the Swordbrothers Festival 2018. Bassist and singer K.K. Basement left in 2020. His replacement Gladius Thundersword left a year later. The Hammerfall influenced band switched to Napalm Records, which had also signed Saltatio Mortis (featuring drummer Dolph). Napalm Records simultaneously had Hammerfall under contract. To maximize its 'hammer' quotient Hammer King's Hammer King album had a song called Hammerschlag and another called In The Name Of The Hammer. Hammerfall also issued the Hammer Of Dawn album through Napalm Records. Hammer King was billed for Summer Breeze 2022 (Hammerfall had played at Summer Breeze in 2019 and would be billed there again in 2023). Hammer King would later sign up for Summer Breeze 2025.

The 2024 album was the band's third recorded by Charles Greywolf of Powerwolf. The band announced a spring tour called For King And Crown Tour 2024 with Warkings, Victorius and Winterstorm, A mini-tour, which was called The Dead Don't Die Tour, along with headliners Dominum and Majestica was running through Europe in late December 2024. Dolph A. Macallan had departed.

Hammer King moved to Reaper Entertainment in 2025. The band had multiple concerts across Germany in the spring and summer including an appearance at Hawk Fest. The band copied America's fascist dictator wanna-be and called its album Make Metal Royal Again. Jens Gellner was the drummer. There was a video for the song King For A Day. The album was announced in 2024, but ended up being released in the middle of 2025. Burning Witches and Hammer King were touring Europe using the Witches And Kings monicker to begin 2026. More embarrassment followed when the band began 2026 with a cover version of Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone, which was also on its last album.
