History & Biography Hands Of Death was formed in Montreal in the year 2001. The group played with Fuck The Facts and Vulgar Deli in Montreal in February 2002. The deathcore band signed to Contempt For Humanity and issued an album in the same year. A 3” MCD appeared in 2004 dubbed simply H.O.D. The band was also supposed to sign to GWN Records, but never did. La Klika, which is a label run by Oli, the band’s guitar player and only remaining original band member, issued the band’s music instead. Hands Of Death and ManKillsMan had a split release in 2007. Canadian Tour CD 2008 was an EP. The band became inactive in 2011, but re-appeared to play Kick Ass Festival in 2023. Several other gigs followed in 2024 including a tribute to Demence's dead singer and guitarist.
Reviews HANDS OF DEATH - SPRING 2004 TOUR 3“ CD - CONTEMPT FOR HUMANITY
Notwithstanding the title, a tour CD? And other than it doesn’t play reliably on any old or new CD players this 3” CD is a solid five-song release recorded at Le Beat Box Studio. Hands Of Death play a mix of grindcore and hardcore, titles like Fashion Victim and Intl Terrorist provide hints as to what influences the band. Scant details on both the label and band’s site and no word if this CD, especially considering its format, is widely available. More than anything, Spring 2004 Tour gives the impression of a sampler where a few guys get together, crunched out some punk-ish, some heavy thick guitar riffs, and growl and screamed on top. - Anna Tergel
