History & Biography Grinding speedsters harppon formed in Chicago of 2008 and had a demo called Live in the same year. It was shared with Eyes and issued by Nail In The Coffin. Its blue cover marked a contrast from other metal recordings. A regular demo followed in the same year and the band hopped unto album territory. Harpoon entered Bricktop Recording in June, 2011 to record its sophomore record Deception Among Birds. Andy Nelson, who recorded the band's first full-length Double Gnarly / Triple Suicide (Released on Interloper), was brought back to handle engineering duties. Deception Among Birds was released on October 25th through Seventh Rule Recordings. The band still used a drum machine.
