History & Biography
Escape was formed in Bordeaux by guitarist/producer Chesneau in 1992. Chesneau would meet singer Grare during a recording session with the band Cristal. Grare was also a professional singing instructor.

The band (founded with the new name in 1993) would gig and win a French music award before signing to the hard rock label Brennus. The debut was produced by Robert Kohlmeyer and the band would tour as support for Vanden Plas.

An acoustic mini-album, featuring several songs from the debut would emerge a year later and would be called Escape Thru' The Lands.

Keyboardist Aymeric Ribot and drummer Dirk Verbeuren would join Headline and the band would record and issue Voices Of Presence. The band shot a video for Exorcise Me off the Duality album. The album's Bereft Of Sky song features the piano sonata number 14 Clair De Lune by Beethoven, There is a video for the song Exorcise Me.

There was a report of a new 2008 album tentatively entitled Thru The Headline, but nothing transpired. Guitarist Didier Chesneau focused on producing bands. Headline was booked for the Paris Metal France Festival V in 2013. The band was nominally a going concern, but no releases would emerge. Headline was unofficially broken up. Sylvie Grare died in July of 2026.
