History & Biography
Sweden-based Jonny Pettersson, also the owner of Studio Unbound, was only in a dozen or so projects so it was time for another one. Enter horror-infused Heads For The Dead in 2017. German singer Ralf Hauber was on the microphone. The two musicians had become acquainted when there was a split release, called Dragged into The Obscure, Between Wombbath and Revel In Flesh in 2016. Incidentally, both these men would also be in Rotpit in a couple of years. With the help of session musicians, like drummer Erik Bevenrud (Stass), the act recorded Serpent's Curse and had it released through Transcending Obscurity Records, which would also sign Gods Forsaken. Ed Warbie came in for Into The Red. The 2021 EP Slash 'N' Roll came with a slight change of style and cover versions. The band called it, "... tribute to the old slasher movies with added punk/crust elements." III: The Great Conjuration added guitarist Matt Moliti, of both Sentience and Sentient Horror (whose Rites Of Gore work was mixed by Pettersson), and drummer Jon Rudin of both Body Harvest and Human Harvest. Then another EP was 2023's In The Absence Of Faith.

Never Ending Night Of Terror was the name for a 2025 full-length by international band Heads For The Dead. It was released by Pulverised Records (Wombbath, etc.) in October.
