History & Biography
Despite its German sounding name, Hellanbach was a speedy British heavy metal band on the Neat label. The band, more precisely, hailed from the North East of England. The group was active between 1979 and 1985. Singer James had spotted guitarist Dave playing at a music shop and initiated the conversation to form the band.

The band had an EP called Out To Get You in 1980. The EP helped the band get a deal with Neat and a debut was issued in 1983. Now Hear This was released by Roadrunner in continental Europe as was its successor. Walker was replaced by Hopper between albums. The Big H featured a song called Little Darlin', which was not a cover version of thin Lizzy's Little Darling. Instead, the band covered Elton John, which was less unusual than the cover version on the first full-length. Sanctuary Records released The Big H: The Hellanbach Anthology in 2002.
