History & Biography Hemdale was an Ohio-based grindcore act which was lead by drummer Rowe,
the man who simultaneously ran underground's Visceral Production label.
The band issued several demos and EPs beginning in 1994 and was on the
verge of signing a deal - with Relapse possibly - when the man and the
band threw in the towel ostensibly because Rowe wanted to pursue a
college degree. One of the band's releases was a split with Exit 13.
Rowe would surface years later as the co-proprietor of Archetype
Media.
In the meanwhile, Relapse Records had issued a compilation called Red
Jackson in 2002.
