History & Biography
The band was formed in 1993 and issued three demos by the time it released an album. These were Butchered By Beliefs in 1994, Pilgrims >From The Age Of Fire in 1995 and Promo 99. In all the band managed to go through ten former members in this period including a keyboardist. During Christmas of 1995 founding member Steven would lose his battle to cancer, although the doctors had expected him to recover. The band's line-up imploded in-between the recording sessions and the album's release.

IMPEDIGON - AS DESIRES FADE... - LSP
Impedigon is far from original. A good bet, though, is that originality was not the Belgians' foremost goal when composing for As Desires Fades... They wear their Swedish influences on their sleeves (even if the label calls them 'Kreators of melodic aggression'??) and know that it ultimately matters little if the delivery is good - and good it is. Coming across as a cross between the vocal menace of Naglfar and the music of In Flames, the quintet (formed in 1993 as Calamitas) adds some superb lead work a la Crypt Of Kerberos and unleashes a fine speed metal album. The band slumps to using background keyboards once or twice proving that the musicianship is still not perfect; returns soon to form by filling the rhythms and the background with guitars as they should be. Milenium Apocalypse (sic) is a good example of what Impedigon is capable of with the guitars picking relentlessly without the band ever losing the melody whose fountainhead lies in Gothenburg. Impedigon is a good bet for Gothenburg fans looking for a more underground and newcomer band.
