History & Biography
Necrophobic guitarist Sebastian Ramstedt teamed up with Dutch drummer Marco Prij of Cryptosis to form In Aphelion in 2020. The guitarist had originally intended to have an instrumental act as an outlet for his music. Ramstedt handled the bass as well. Johan became the second guitarist soon. Necrophobic guitarists Sebastian Ramstedt and Johan Bergebäck regularly move in tandem. Demo I was released in the summer of 2021. An EP, called Luciferian Age, arrived through Edged Circle Productions later that year. Bassist Dennis Holm joined in April 2022. The full-length, entitled Moribund, featured many demo and EP tracks. Bassist Tobias Cristiansson of Necrophobic jumped in for live work in 2023. The band played at Czech Death Fest and closed the year with an appearance at Nordfest and another at Eindhoven.

The band signed with Century Media Records, which was home to both bands, in 2024. An album called Reaperdawn was scheduled for that summer. There was a video for the song A Winter Moon's Gleam.

When the earth is the furthest from the sun in its orbit it is 'in aphelion.'
