History & Biography
Born near Munich in 2003 the German act - not to be confused with the Venezuelan goth band with the same name - adopted black metal via a demo called Of Ancient Splendour. The band had come forth after Dunkelfront had gone dark following the departure of singer and guitarist Azhag. Keeping up with the theme a full-length demo called Worshiping Times Of Old followed in 2004. It featured guitarist Harbarth who left in 2006. This was reportedly due to a loss of interest and lack of time. Several gigs were given without a bass player.

The band participated in a split release with Lost Life in 2006, which was issued through Fullmoon Funeral. The band signed with Debemur Morti Productions and issued an album in the middle of 2008. The album was actually recorded in February of 2007. Its concept revolved around the moment of death. The band used the downtime to rework its logo. Singer Dagon left in 2010 apparently not relishing another concept album revolving around the thoughts of Andras. The act was a solo one now. German heathen metal band Infestus would release its next album, E x | I s t, on May 19, 2011 in North America through Debemur Morti Productions. The man assembled a live line-up to begin gigging following the release of The Reflecting Void. Andras himself would handle the microphone live. This formation was booked for Hellfest Open Air 2015 and Dark Easter Metal Meeting 2015.

Thrypsis' concept revolved around the, "Continuous destabilization and degradation of the soul as consequence to a catastrophic event." The act was part of Dark Easter Metal Meeting 2019 and the Bavarian Battle Winter 2020. The band switched to Talheim Records for its Entzweiung album, which was issued on April 19th 2024. The 'divisiveness' album addressed the opposing forces within the protagonist Andras, namely "yearning for maximum distance from this world" and "binding consciousness like chains to earthly existence."
